My first documentary series, and an absolute step up. I edited one of the episodes in partnership with FvF Productions, which meant diving headfirst into a format I'd only admired from the outside. Documentary editing is a different beast – you're not chasing a storyboard, you're finding the story inside hours of footage that doesn't always know what it wants to be yet.
Working with the FvF team was exactly what I'd hoped for. Their taste is ridiculous, their process is tight, and the conversations around structure, pacing, and character really pushed me. I left this one with a much better feel for how to shape a narrative when the script is basically "here, figure it out."
A big one for me personally. Already hungry for the next doc.
